Adventure into Town

While the Sandes were staying with us we went out on an adventure into town. We first drove to Petone to catch the train. They were doing maintenance on the Johnsonville line so the train was replaced by buses.

Tom, Kathryn and Andrew on the train.

Then we walked down Lampton Quay to catch the cable car.

Andrew and his Daddy on the cable carAt the top there is a cable car museum. They have an old cable car that you can climb and sit on. Andrew, Tom and Olivia enjoyed that.

This cable car is likely to have been one that Grandma Harris would have caught to Teachers College.

Please don't leave me here!!!

Don't worry we didn't leave Andrew there. After catching the cable car back down the hill we had lunch and looked in some shops before catching the train back to Petone and then driving home. Andrew had a sleep in his buggy.

Playcentre

Andrew and I went to our first playcentre starter group session today. Starter group is a once a week group for under two year olds held at our local playcentre. There is 16 kids. Mum has to stay to help out, there are experienced co-ordinators as well.

Today Andrew got to attempt drawing (but mummy intervened as he tried to eat the pens), play in the sandpit, play outside, have morning tea with all the kids, play with dinosaurs and play on the slide.

What is also nice is that Andrew's friend Aleshia also started today along with a couple of our friends from our plunket coffee group so we already know some of the people there.

We are looking forward to next Tuesday when we can go again.

He is very cute

Just a few cute Andrew anecdotes that I wanted share:

1)Andrew is presently playing with blocks in the lounge bopping along to the CD I just put on to amuse him while I did chores. It is quite funny to watch.

2) Yesterday at the park he managed to get the swing to move by waving his legs around. He hasn't quite it out totally but he can keep the swing moving.

3)He has also now learnt how to get on the couch and footrest. This opens up some more places to explore and mummy has had to find new places for things she doesn't want Andrew to get into.

4) Andrew has a facinitation with milk bottle lids. He likes to play with them and gets quite excited when he sees one. One thing he likes to do with them is try putting them onto other circular objects.

5)Twice yesterday when Stephen came into the room Andrew got excited and then came looking for me to let me know that Daddy was around. This was very cute particularly when Daddy came home from work.

Anyway I had better get back to the washing.
