One month old today

Andrew is one month old today. Here he is in his bouncer with his toy giraffe. Mummy finds it hard to believe it has been a month. 

Watching Each Other

When Granny and Grandpa, Carolyn and Ethan were visiting, we spent a lot of time looking at each other and smiling. (Though Andrew hasn't learnt how to smile on demand yet.) 

Denne Grandparents Get To Hold Andrew

Granny and Grandpa Denne came today, they're staying in Wellington for a few days, and finally got to hold their youngest Grandson. They think he's beautiful and fantastic. He thinks they're comfortable. 

Thanks Aunty Margaret

Aunty Margaret thank you for knitting me this nice warm cardigan. As you can see it looks good on me. I wouldn't keep the bootees on for the photo.

P.S I am looking forward to meeting you, Olivia and Thomas when you come in three weeks. Next week I get to meet my Grandparents Denne, Aunty Carolyn and my cousin Ethan. That will be great. 

Wake Time

This morning Andrew spent 30 mins sitting his bouncer playing with his toy gym. This gave mum time to do jobs like washing his clothes. He is now having a sleep. 

Feeding Frenzy

Yesterday afternoon, and evening, and night, Andrew was continually wanting to feed.

A growth spurt around now is pretty typical, and possibly slightly overdue.

Kathryn just wanted to sleep, it was a very tiring night.

The result however is that Andrew has now surpassed his birth weight! With breast-fed babies, this normally happens by two to three weeks, so on Thursday (day 13) when our midwife recommended supplementing his feeds with a few servings of formula for dessert after a feed, we instead shortened the duration between waking Andrew to feed him, in order to get an extra feed in during the day.

We did try spoon feeding him some formula on a few occasions, but we wasn't particularly interested in it.

Weight at birth: 3.24kg
Weight at day eighteen: 3.26kg
