Our trip to Napier

Last week we went to Napier for the week. We stayed in a sevenaway (old Post office welfare trust) holiday home. Here is a longish account of our holiday.
Saturday: drove up through the Wairarapa. We stopped at my Aunt Mary (mum's sister) and Uncle Dave's place. It was nice to have a coffee with them. We stopped at Mt bruce wildlife centre for lunch. We were planning on a picnic but it was drizzling so we ate at the cafe. (we had our picnic for dinner). We had a look around. We saw the eels being feed, a bunny feeding on the path and two kiwi's plus some other birds I can't remember. We stopped in Norsewood for Andrew to have some milk.

Sunday: we had lunch with friends Nicola and Joss. They live across from a park so we went over the road after lunch and feed the ducks and looked around. There was a pipe band concert being held. Andrew was a little unsettled. He had sore teeth and a cold. Then we went to visit my Aunty Anne (Dad's sister) and Uncle Peter. We sat down by the sea and had fish and chips.

Monday: We went to Napier city centre and wander around. We went to the aquarium in the afternoon. Stephen took lots of pictures. Andrew was quite taken with the fish and couldn't quite understand why he couldn't touch the turtle on the other side of glass. Below is a photo of Andrew and I at the aquarium.

Tuesday: We went to a Chocolate factory and museum. Yummy. Then we visited some wineries. We had very yummy lunch at one of the wineries. It was a beautiful afternoon sitting under a a tree while Andrew played on the grass as we ate our lunch. We went to Aunty Anne and Uncle Peter's for dinner.

Wednesday: We went to the Haumonoa farmyard zoo. I have already posted some pictures from there. Andrew seemed to enjoy this. After this Andrew went to sleep in his car seat and slept for about an hour and half. During which time we drove over to ocean beach, ate our lunch and drove back to Havelock North.

Thursday: I think this was the morning Andrew woke up with two teeth poking through. We went up Te Mata peak. We sat under a tree and had our picnic lunch. Then we went for two walks up the Maraetotara valley, Mohi Bush and Maraetotara falls.

Friday: we went to another winery and then for a drive north of Napier as far as the Napier-Taupo Road. We spent the afternoon back where we were staying.

Saturday: We spent the morning packing up and cleaning. Andrew slept most of the way home. We stopped in Palmerston North to see our friends. Andrew would have quite liked it if we lived in Paramatta as it was about there he wanted to get out of his car seat.

Nine month update

Hi,

What am I doing now I am nine months? Well presently I am trying to roll off the couch but mummy is sitting blocking me from doing this.

I have my two front top teeth. These came through together last week. No teeth on the bottom yet.
.
I am trying to crawl. I can go backwards okay but can't work out this forward thing. It is getting rather frustrating. Mummy keeps telling me I need to watch other kids crawl.

I have also decided I like to sleep on my tummy. This initially concerned mummy but I can sleep all night like this now.

I often will sleep for 10-11 hours at night. I still need to have a couple of sleeps during the day otherwise I will go to sleep at 6pm and then wake up 30-45 mins later and wanted to play for a while.

I like my food. I will basically eat whatever mummy or daddy offer me. I still like to have milk from mummy 5 times a day or sometimes more.

Mummy and I went to Granddad and Grandma Harris's for a weekend for Granddad's birthday. Mummy planted their garden. I thought it was really funny when Granddad snored.

Mummy and I have been outside lots as the weather has been really nice. I like to help mummy while she gardens or hangs the washing out. We have also been playing in the paddling pool.

I quite like to look at books, which is what I am doing now on the floor while mummy finishes this. I also like animals. When mummy or daddy do Farm animal noises I laugh. I also like to watch the cricket when it is on TV.

We have also been away on holiday but I am going to let mummy post about that.

Farmyard trip

When we went to Napier last week we went to a farmyard zoo. We saw goats, sheep, chickens, geese, ducks, rabbits, deer, llama, alpaca, pigs and more. Here are some photos of Andrew and his parents exploring.
